The Nexus Cushioned Sandals are distinguished by their cross-strap design — a single matte leather strap that runs diagonally across the instep, with an adjustable square buckle in aged gold metal. They are the most minimalist model in Alicouro’s cushioned line, suitable both for casual everyday use and for more polished occasions outdoors.
Cushioned natural cork insole
Like all models in the cushioned line, the Nexus Cushioned Sandals feature a natural cork insole with an intermediate layer of high-density foam. The cork molds to the shape of your foot over the first few weeks of use — it’s normal to feel some initial firmness that gradually diminishes. The result is a personalized anatomical support that improves over time.
Matte vegetable-tanned leather
The Brown and Chocolate versions are made from matte leather — a flat, non-reflective finish with a slightly grainy texture to the touch. It is a material more resistant to surface dirt than suede, with a discreet, urban look that pairs well with any summer wardrobe.
A note on sizing
Due to the anatomical design of the insole, the feet must sit completely within the footbed edges. We recommend sizing up from your usual size. If unsure, consult our Size Guide — we offer free exchanges within 30 days for mainland Portugal.
Matte leather care
- Clean regularly with a dry or slightly damp cloth
- Apply our Alicouro Leather Conditioner every 3 to 4 weeks to nourish and maintain suppleness
- Always use products specific to matte finishes — avoid gloss products that may alter the original look
- Store in a dry, ventilated place away from direct sunlight
